When introducing one into the world of Nordic skiing, it quickly becomes apparent that there are two distinct sides to the sport: racing and recreation.
Recreation, as the name sounds, is the very fun and less demanding aspect to nordic skiing which makes up most of the time spent on the sport. There’s not a high demand for results, performance, or statistics that competitive tensions can generate. To put it in the plainest terms, it doesn’t rely on you being the best in the world to go on explorations in the woods with your friends.
Our most basic goal at Cornell Nordic is for all members, new and old, to possess the skills to enjoy recreational skiing.
